Employee
IT / Software

fotograf/GotPhoto is the market leading workflow and sales solution for professional photographers in Europe and has a strong footprint in the US market.

We’re on a mission to make photographers more successful in their business. We achieve this by moving photography businesses which, in Europe and North America, photograph more than 120 million children every year from the analogue to the digital world.

Our business model creates a real win-win situation for all parties involved: By using fotograf.de, photographers save 50% of their admin-effort that they can then invest in winning new clients and photo jobs. fotograf.de benefits from more orders handled by our platform. In 2018, we processed 1 million orders and we’re growing fast.

Since we’re profitable as a business, we can focus on building sustainable solutions. We are a strong team of over 50 people that supports each other in a family-like environment and has an amazing time working towards a common purpose. We will speak the truth, acknowledge mistakes, share advice, help each other and celebrate successes.

Your mission

Our architecture consists of one core application and several separated services that work together to provide the best possible product for photographers as well as their end customers.

We need your help in maintaining our services and developing new ones as we continue on our task to migrate from the monolith application to a more maintainable and distributed system.

Our second challenge is expanding our system with new functionalities to be ready to conquer new international markets, meet all needed requirements and stay the most advanced and modern online platform for photographers.

Therefore, we want to expand our development team and are looking for an exceptional DevOps engineer who is willing to face fun and interesting challenges together with us.

Your role

In this role, you work closely together with our cross-functional tech team to ensure the scalability, automatization and development of our infrastructure.

  • You will design, build, automate and deploy our cloud platform solutions using AWS (currently based on Terraform, Docker, Quay.io, GitLab)
  • You ensure the set up of our live, staging & dev systems in a consistent container environment and support the application teams in using it during development, automated deployments and operation
  • You select suitable DevOps tools and continuously improve the performance & scaling of our system
  • You enable the tech team to implement the right monitoring- and logging solutions
  • You will maintain & improve our existing CI/CD Pipelines across all environments

Skills we are looking for

  • Expert with relevant AWS services (certified either AWS SysOps-Administrator or AWS Developer)
  • High-end professional experience in the last 3-4 yrs
  • Strong knowledge of Linux OS (Amazon Linux, Debian, Alpine)
  • Knowledge of network design, configuration and administration
  • Passionate about technology, keeping up-to-date with new trends and practices
  • Expert with Docker and experience with Kubernetes
  • Education with IT focus
  • Knowledge of the following technologies: Configuration Management (eg, Chef, Ansible), Logging (eg Graylog), Application Performance Monitoring (eg Newrelic), Monitoring (eg Cloudwatch, Grafana), Database technologies (MySQL, DynamoDB)
  • Experience with PHP is a plus
  • Reliability, team spirit, flexibility and quality awareness
  • Excellent language skills in English; German and photography skills are a plus, not a must

We offer

  • Full visa-sponsorship with a relocation budget of 2.000€ (when moving from outside of Europe)
  • Meaningful work in a profitable and growing company with many opportunities for career progression and a strong team spirit and integrity
  • Flexible working hours (e.g. regular home office) and a competitive salary
  • Regular training and coaching, external/internal training and a budget for books and courses of a minimum of 300€
  • Yearly paid team holidays (Feb 2019: 4 days in Lanzarote)

And much more...

  • Your own personal On-boarding Buddy who will help you integrate into our workplace family faster
  • Regular get-togethers, such as monthly team brunches, team events, Brownbag Sessions
